8:30 TRADITIONAL, 10:45 CONTEMPORARY. ON FIRST SUNDAYS OF THE MONTH, WE HAVE COMBINED WORSHIP AT 9:30.
Godfrey First UMC is a congregation with a long and storied history, dating back to 1825. We embrace our heritage while moving passionately and intentionally into the future, celebrating both tradition and emergent elements in worship.

If you aren’t familiar with the United Methodist Church, here is some historical background, and here is a basic summary of United Methodist teachings. Another helpful tool we prize is the Apostles’ Creed, which we confess together with most Christians around the world.
On most Sundays, we have two morning worship services at 8:30am and 10:45am.
Combined Worship at 9:30am on FIRST SUNDAYS (with communion), July, and Advent.

The 8:30am service is a more “traditional” worship while the 10:45 is more blended, mixing traditional with contemporary worship styles. Childcare is only offered during the 10:45 worship service, but children are welcome and celebrated in worship. A children’s message and JAM (see Children’s Ministry) are also offered during the 10:45 service for children ages 3 through 5th grade.
