As United Methodist Women, we help women, children, and youth in our community and around the world. We have a card ministry, a shut-in and others ministry (including our November Cookie delivery), prayer ministry, Funeral Dinner ministry, as well as other ministry projects that come up throughout the year. We have a complete list of our missions in our booklet available in the Common Grounds coffee area. We have three different meeting circles; 1. Deborah Ruth, 2. Merry Widows, 3. Classy Crafters. We have our general meetings in the Common Grounds coffee area of Godfrey First UMC at 11:00 am on the 2nd or 3rd Tuesday, except January, February, June, or July, depending on our speakers. Some of our general meetings will have themes, such as our September Luau, and refreshments are served at every meeting.
Our emblem, the cross and flame, symbolizing the Holy Spirit, evokes images of sacrifice, witness, and service, and reminds us as UMW of our opportunities and obligation of discipleship. We are a community of women whose purpose is to know God, and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of our Church.
With Love, Joy, & Peace in Christ
