Welcome to Godfrey First UMC, where we want you to feel welcome and loved.
JAM (Jesus and Me) is for children pre-K through 5th grade and meets during the sermon time of the 9:30 First Sunday service and the 10:45 all other Sundays service. We use a variety of resources to build our Christian education. We also use JAM time to work on projects for Back to School, Grandparent’s Day, Halloween, Christmas, and more. We also offer a week-long Vacation Bible School during the summer.
GPS Youth Ministry is open to all middle and high school youth regardless of church affiliation. We discuss how God can help us navigate our way through our teen years by Growing in faith, Participating in the life of the church, and Sharing the Good News! We meet on Sunday evenings during the school year from 5:30-7:30pm.
The Ignite Youth Choir is an ecumenical Christian singing group comprised of middle and high school youth from the Alton/Godfrey and surrounding areas. Rehearsals are on Sundays in February through May from 3:30 to 5:30 and performances are on Sundays during the summer. We conclude with a long weekend of performances in Branson, MO at the end of July.
The Godfrey Methodist Men meet on the second Saturday of the month at 8:00am. (no meeting in June, July, or August)
We enjoy donuts, fellowship, and a devotion and discuss opportunities to support ministries within the church.
As Godfrey Methodist Women, we help women, children, and youth in our community and around the world. We have several ministries and events throughout the year including the rummage sale, prayer ministry, cookie delivery, fellowship dinners, funeral dinners, and more. We are a community of women whose purpose is to know God, and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of our Church.

Dominoes
Meets on the first Friday of the month at 6:00pm. Participants are invited bring refreshments, friends, and other board games if desired.

Meets on the first Wednesday of the month at 10:00am. They send cares of encouragement, praise, and hope to those who need it.

The Choir meets on the Wednesday before the first Sunday of the month at 6:00pm and perform during the First Sunday service at 9:30am. Praise Team sings every Sunday at both the 10:45am service and First Sundays 9:30am combined worship.

The Acts Bible study meets at 7:00pm Thursday evenings at the church

The WILD Bunch meets on the second Friday of each month at 10:30am for discussion or activity. They also meet on the fourth Friday of the month for a movie night with snacks!
